The Kent Agreement - Healthier Communities and Older
People
Block 3
Overview
The Local Area Agreement (LAA) gives partners in Kent
the opportunity to deliver powerful outcomes that address
the issues of poor health and variations in health.
The White Paper Choosing
Health creates the environment for this block
and enables the partners to share ideas in a clear context.
In addition to the Public Health White Paper there are
other policy drivers relevant to this block, including
Every
Child Matters and Kent's Supporting Independence
Programme which is a theme that echoes the thrust of
Choosing Health and underpins all the outcomes
in this block.
There will also be a number of measures in this and
other blocks that will support a reduction in the demand
placed on the secondary healthcare sector, particularly
attendance at Accident and Emergency and admissions.
The hallmark of this block is supporting the independence
of all our population, with specific attention to the
needs and aspirations of older people and people from
vulnerable groups.
