The Kent Agreement 1 - Children and Young People
Block 1
Overview
As a result of KCC's first Local Public Service Agreement
(LPSA), significantly improved outcomes for children
were achieved. In particular, against a national upward
trend of children coming into local authority care,
we managed to reduce those numbers and to increase stability
for children in care by increasing the numbers being
adopted.
Our second Local Public Service Agreement (LSPA2) concentrated
on those outcomes where value can be added through mature
partnership working. These outcomes for children and
young people do not represent the whole of Kent's approach
to children's services but they articulate priorities,
identified through consultation, and shared between
partners.
